Professional Innovation Advisor Designation Program

Workshop for October 25 - 26, 2017 (Wednesday - Thursday)

Until now, there was no formal way to have a connection to the latest research, support, and tools that the Center provides. Nor was there a way to sharpen Innovation delivery skills beyond the initial training. Or collaborate directly with the Center and an active and thriving network of fellow practitioners.

The purpose of the Professional Innovation Advisor (PIA) designation program is to help Simplexity-trained people flex the process further, differentiate themselves, and build successful internal or external inn

Benefits of Becoming a Professional Innovation Advisor

  1. Differentiate yourself from the many facilitators and so-called innovation consultants.
  2. Raise awareness of your innovation expertise with your customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  3. Stay knowledgeable in the latest trends and research developments in innovation.
  4. Publicizes your PIA designation on the Center’s website.
  5. Learn how to translate preconsult knowledge into high value customer proposals.
  6. Access a team of highly skilled innovation practitioners when needed.

Earning the PIA Designation

  1. Complete Level I and Level II Workshops.
  2. Attend the PIA Advanced Practitioner Seminar.
  3. Provide three written reference letters describing the impact that you have made using the Simplex process. These must be from the last three years.

Maintaining the Designation is Easy

  1. Write an online assessment examination every three years.
  2. Earn ongoing Continuing Education credits through seminars, webinars and/or eCourses.
  3. Use Simplexity-branded materials and tools (Dots, HMW pads, Action Planning pads, Profile, etc) in all working sessions to demonstrate that you are using a professional (and proven) innovation process.
  4. Voluntary: contribute to the Body of Knowledge of the Center for Research in Applied Creativity (i.e. articles, insights obtained while working, contributing to research).
  5. Annual fee of $275.

Directions

By car to the Waterfront hotel from Toronto airport - Exit airport, follow Hwy 427 South to 401 West, exit 403 West toward Hamilton and QEW.  In Burlington area, exit Brant St..  Head South all the way to the end (Lakeshore Drive).  Turn left into the hotel parking lot.

By car to the Centre (4 acre wooded lot) from the Waterfront hotel - Head North on Brant Street, merge onto the 403 West toward Hamilton.  Exit at Waterdown Road (1st exit).  Turn right onto Waterdown Road.  Head North 2 km (curvy road) to Old Waterdown Road (just past Ireson Road).   If you get to Mountain Brow Road, you have gone too far.   The Centre is the first driveway on the right.  Please drive to the back and park, walk in, welcome!
